Our Financial Development Program focuses on securing funds to underwrite our current needs as well as developing creative programs, partnerships and support within our community. Development also works with Home & School and all subcommittee chairpersons to effectively plan events, efforts and streamline goals, objectives and potential sponsors. In addition, Development is responsible for grant writing, annual appeals, corporate partnerships, special events and community/media awareness efforts.
It is important to remember that sharing one's talent and treasure is an integral part of being Catholic. The Lord gives us many gifts, but those gifts are meant to be shared! The more we share our gifts, the more we are able to experience the blessings of our Lord.
We invite you to join our effort to secure the future of Catholic education in our community!

S EVENTS
THE SFX SCHOOL FOUNDATION
The SFX School Foundation aims to ensure the future of Catholic Education. The school receives a percentage of the principle from the SFX Foundation annually that is applied towards the cost of running our school as well academic and building needs not covered by tuition. In addition a gift may be made restricted towards technology, music, Science and tuition assistance to name a few. Click here to read more about the SFX School Foundation.
GUARDIAN ANGEL APPEAL
The Guardian Angel Appeal is an annual effort to help raise tuition assistance support for our school families who may experience a crisis such as illness, loss of employment or death of a family member. Last year our goal was $40,000 and we raised more than $47,000. Currently, 45% of our 600 students receive a form of tuition assistance and this year we hope to raise $45,000 to support the increased needs of our school families. The Guardian Angel Appeal is running right now, so please help us meet our goal!
IN-KIND GIFTS AND SERVICES
We are always looking for donations of goods or services. For example, if you are a roofer you may contribute time and material towards the repair, if you are a chef, you may prepare and underwrite a VIP reception for our annual musical or you may just decide to donate a gift certificate or basket to our golf tournament's silent auction. Whatever your profession or talent may be, there is always an opportunity to give. The opportunities are infinite!
PLANNED GIFTS
There are different ways to support St. Francis Xavier School both today and in the years to come via Planned Giving. Depending on your age, a Planned Gift may also be able to provide you with significant income today in exchange for your future gift to the school.
STOCKS, SECURITIES, & GIFTS OF PROPERTY
Donors can use their own broker/agent or the diocesan agent to transfer and sell stock, or donate property to benefit SFX School. If the stock has been held long-term (over one year), the donor does not have to pay capital gains tax and is allowed a tax deduction for the full value of the stock. However, the stock must first be transferred to the school before being liquidated. Families or individuals interested in making a gift of real estate or personal property. This can be in the form of a house or land. To initiate a gift of property, it is important to contact the Diocese of Venice to have the property appraised.
CORPORATE MATCHING GIFTS
Each company handles its matching gift program differently. In most instances the donor initiates the matching gift from his or her company by requesting a form from the Human Resource Department. The donor then fills out the form and sends it with each installment payment of his or her pledge. You may be able to increase the value of your gift by participating in a matching gift program provided through your employer or board membership. Companies may match charitable contributions at 1:1, 2:1 and sometimes as high as a 3:1 ratio on outright or deferred gifts. Your employer's Human Resource Department can provide information and forms for you to take advantage of this unique leveraging opportunity. There is a simple rule for donors who are not sure whether their employer matches charitable gifts, "when in doubt....ask!"
